Dr. Crosby and Dr. Kolinski Attend the 101st American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting
The meeting was held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida from November 14th to the 17th. Periodontists, dental hygienists, dental students and researchers from around the country came to take part in one of the premier meetings to learn how to improve clinical skills, learn about new dental products and network with professionals in the field. Topics included innovations in periodontics, clinical technique showcases and latest trends.
Dr. Kolinski was a featured speaker and gave a presentation on Narrow Diameter Implants. Narrow-diameter implants (NDI) were originally introduced as transitional implants. Though intended to be removed, these implants osseointegrated, showing bone-to-implant contact similar to that of conventional diameter implants. Dr. Kolinski lectured on the use of NDIs in modern implantology, both as an interim solution for graft protection as well as a permanent prosthetic solution for narrow ridges, tight interdental spaces, molar replacement and denture stabilization.
The American Academy of Periodontology is an 8,200 member professional association for Periodontists specialists in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth, and in the placement of dental implants.
