Dentist With a Heart 2011

February 2011

Midwest Dental Implantology was a participating practice in the annual “Dentist With a Heart.” On Wednesday, February 16, 2011, our office along with other dental practices opened our doors to bring dental care to those in need. “Dentist With a Heart” aims to provide dental treatment for adults that are uninsured.

Dr. Kolinski and Dr. Crosby, and a full staff of dental assistants and four dental hygienists volunteered through the day. We began our date with check-in at 7:00 a.m. and cared for close to 50 patients before the last one walked out the door at 6:00 p.m.

We received an overwhelming response, our waiting room was overflowing and more patents continued to arrive, some scheduled and many hoping to be seen. Patients that were not scheduled were seen on a first come, first serve basis. Seven operatories allowed our team of doctors, staff, dental assistants and hygienists to provide extractions and dental cleanings to many patients whom had not seen a dentist for years. Our hygienists cleaned teeth, and took the time to provide education and dental supplies for patients to continue dental hygiene at home. This program touches the lives of so many in need of oral health care instruction. Every patient was so grateful! We were proud to be a part of it!
